Participate in a unique event dedicated to analyzing and debating the impact of fire on soils. This multidisciplinary gathering will bring together leading researchers from around the globe, creating a rich environment for exchanging ideas, exploring diverse perspectives, and addressing the challenges, effects, and ecosystems impacted by fire.

Our History

The International Conference on Fire Effects on Soil Properties (FESP) began in 2007 in Barcelona as the International Meeting organized by the Mediterranean Environmental Research Group (GRAM) from the University of Barcelona. Since its inception, FESP has become a global reference point for scientific exchange on the effects of fire on soils properties.

Held biennially, the conference has traveled to various countries, including Turkey (2009), Portugal (2011), Lithuania (2013), Ireland (2015), South Africa (2017), Israel (2019), Brazil (2021), and the Netherlands (2023), fostering an international network of interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge.
